State Track Day Two Area Recap – Class B
Broken Bow girls 4x400 relay team placed 8th in Class B at state track.

The final day of the Class A and B NSAA State track and field championships took place on Thursday at Burke Stadium in Omaha. Recapping the accomplishments of the Broken Bow athletes on Thursday.

The Broken Bow girls 4×400 meter relay team medaled in 8th place at Class B state championships. The team of Maren Chapin, Kailyn Scott, Anna Lindstrom, and Brianna Quinn posted a time of 4:07.13 to finish in the top eight to receive a medal. Kya Scott had a busy morning as she competed in both the Class B girls shot put and high jump. Scott was unable to clear the opening height in the high jump which was 4’11”. Scott then competed in the girls shot put. Her best effort of the tournament came on her final throw which was 35’9.25″ which ended up being 15th best at the state tournament. Qwentin Coble competed in the Class B boys long jump Thursday morning. Coble’s best effort came on his first attempt which was 19’5.5 inches which was 18th best at the tournament. Tyler Thomas competed in the Class B boys discus on Thursday. Tyler’s best effort was 130’1″ which was 22nd best at the state tournament.

Other area highlights included Aubrey O’Hare of Gothenburg picking up the 5th place medal in the 100 meter hurdles. Her time was 15.65 seconds. Karen Burkholder of Cozad competed in the finals of the girls Class B 300 meter hurdles. Burkholder would place 3rd in the event with a time of 46.75 seconds.
