Sandhills/Thedford Claims Boys and Girls MNAC Tournament Titles

The Sandhills/Thedford Knights claimed both the girls and boys MNAC basketball tournament titles on Saturday at Broken Bow high school.  Sandhills/Thedford went up against South Loup in the boys championship game.  South Loup led 26-22 at halftime but Sandhills/Thedford would outscore South Loup 29-13 in the second half on their way to a 51-39 victory.  Brady Dahlberg led the way for the victorious Knights.  The Sandhills/Thedford center led all scorers with a game high 20 points.  Trey Connell was the leading scorer for South Loup with a team high 13 points.

In the girls championship, Sandhills/Thedford defeated Brady 62-21.  Eight players scored for the victorious Lady Knights led by Dayle Haake who had a game high 24 points.  Also finishing in double figures for S/T was Jaylen Dimmitt who connected on three 3’s and finished with 16 points.  Leading scorer for Brady was Keaton Fattig who finished with a team high 7 points.

In other action from the MNAC tournament on Saturday.  Sandhills Valley defeated Twin Loup in the boys third place consolation game.  Leyton Connell had a big game for Sandhills Valley scoring a game high 22 points.  Twin Loup was led by Quincy Ryker who had a team high 17.

Anselmo-Merna won the girls third place consolation game holding off Arthur County 47-31.  AM’s Rhianen Myers led all scorers with a game high 18 points.  Arthur County was led by Rylan Swanson who had a team high 10 points.
