Safranek Places Third in 60 Meters at Metro Track Meet

Cruze Safranek competed in the Metro Indoor Athletics Series track meet at St. Mary College in Omaha for high school students. In the finals Sunday (2/18), Safranek earned the bronze medal placing third in the 60 meter dash in a time of 7.19 seconds. Safranek posted a personal best time of 7.11 in the event at the NE Indoor Championship at Concordia University in Seward on January 28th where he also placed third.

Safranek also competed in the indoor 200 meter race. He ran a personal best time of 23.8 seconds in the event during the NE Indoor Championship where he placed third.

Winter indoor track contestants are not attached to a high school and can be from all size schools with several states represented. Safranek is a senior at Broken Bow high school and is the son of Brent and Leslie Safranek. Safranek ran with the Quantum Athletics Team coached by Caleb Franklin.
