Results/Gallery: Southwest Conference Cross Country held in Broken Bow

BROKEN BOW— Southwest Conference Cross Country was held Thursday afternoon at Broken Bow Golf Club in Broken Bow.

Girls varsity competition started the afternoon of running, with Gothenburg’s Scout Bell crossing the finish line first in a time of 20:18.37. Ashlyn Schauda was the first Broken Bow runner across the line, placing fifth with a time of 21:48.31.

The Minden girls took the top spot in the girls team scoring, followed closely by Gothenburg in second. Broken Bow had four runners finish inside the top 20 to take third. McCook, Holdrege, Cozad, and Ogallala rounded out the team field.

A Gothenburg Swede took the top spot in boys competition as well, with Tyler Hetz crossing the finish line with a time of 16:30.63. Broken Bow’s Logan Bell led the Indian runners by placing 18th with a time of 18:44.30.

In team scoring in the boys competition, Holdrege had four runners in the top 10 to boost their score for a conference championship. Gothenburg placed second followed by Minden, Cozad, Ogallala, Broken Bow, and McCook.
