The Nebraska Scholastic Wrestling Coaches Association has announced its 2024 Special Award winners for the year and wrestling season. The awards recognize individuals involved in Nebraska wrestling as athletes, coaches, officials, contributors and more. Nominations for the special awards are submitted by coaches and decided on by a vote of their peers and members of the NSWCA.
The following individuals from the KCNI/KBBN coverage area were honored by the association.
Jennifer Schaaf, wife of Broken Bow head wrestling coach Ed Schaaf, was announced as this year’s “NSWCA Coaches Wife of the Year”
Jason and Amber Rynearson of Broken Bow were honored with the “NSWCA Family of the Year” award
The “McIntyre / Watnam Coaches Award” went to Marlin Berg of SEM
Brett Mauler of Mullen was recognized as one of the NSWCA Officials of the Year
Evan Gideon of Burwell was honored as the Class D Assistant Coach of the Year
