The NSAA girls state basketball championships continued on Thursday with quarterfinal games in classes B, C1, and D1. Gothenburg advanced to the Class C1 semifinals by coming back from a 16 point deficit early in the third quarter to knock off Southwest Conference Rival Ogallala 70-63. The comeback was led by Halsey Thomalla and Zoe Beveridge. Thomalla scored 25 points in the second half finishing with a career high 32 points and Beveridge added 22 for the Swedes. Gothenburg advances to face top seed Milford who held off Central City 37-34 to advance. On the other side of the Class C1 bracket, Fort Calhoun upset #2 seed Lincoln Christian, in overtime, 57-56. Fort Calhoun advances to the semifinals where they will face Malcolm who defeated Holdrege 56-36.
