The 2024 NSAA boys state golf championships came to their conclusion on Wednesday. The Class D tournament wrapped up Wednesday at Lake Maloney Golf Club in North Platte. Overton was the team champion followed by Hitchcock County in second. Anselmo-Merna finished in 12th in the team standings and South Loup finished 14th.
The individual champion was Jake Dane of Sandy Creek with a low two day total of 150. The top area finisher was Aaron Bartak of Anselmo-Merna who finished in the top ten. Bartak followed up an opening round of 79 on Tuesday with a round of 77 on Wednesday to finish in a tie for 7th with a two day total of 156. Brady Haake of Sandhills/Thedford also finished in the top ten. After an opening round of 80, Haake followed up with a final round of 78 for a two day total of 158 to finish 10th overall. Colin Cooksley of Anselmo-Merna medaled in the top 15 finishing in a tie for 14th. Cooksley started with a round of 81 on Tuesday and finished with a final round of 80 for a two day total of 161.
