Nebraska High School Rodeo Makes Weekend Stop in Burwell

Burwell was host to the Nebraska High School Rodeo this past weekend with performances on Saturday and Sunday.  Recapping some of the area highlights, Haylea Miller of Broken Bow was the pole bending champion on Saturday with a winning time of 21.978.  Gracyn Hicks of Burwell won the girls cutting on Saturday with a score of 72.  Jason Ducker-Kursave of Arcadia was runner up in the bull riding at Saturday’s performance with a score of 71

On Sunday, area highlights included Coy Johnston of Stapleton winning the steer wrestling with a winning time of 4.84 seconds followed by Dawson Doggett of Stapleton in 2nd with a time of 6.3.  Anna Clark of Thedford posted the fastest time in the barrels Sunday with a winning time of 18.516 seconds.
