Nebraska High School Rodeo contestants competed in Thedford and Stapleton over the weekend.
Some of the area highlights from Saturday’s rodeo in Thedford included Sid Miller of Merna winning the tie down roping in a time of 10.33 seconds. Coy Johnston of Stapleton teamed with Brent Charlton of North Platte to win the team roping in a time of 8.15 seconds.
Sunday’s rodeo took place in Stapleton. Coy Johnston of Stapleton won the steer wrestling Sunday with a winning time of 5.42. There was one qualified ride in the saddle broncs on Sunday and it belonged to Kaleb Hurt of Callaway who won the event with a score of 57. Jason Ducker-Kursave of Arcadia had the only qualified ride in the bull riding Sunday winning the title with a score of 65 and Lillian Fletcher of Arnold won the Breakaway roping in a time of 3.19.
