Nebraska Girls Basketball Showcase – Broken Bow Wins Over Freeman

The 2025 Nebraska Girls Basketball Showcase took place Saturday at Kearney High School.  The Showcase consisted of eight games and featured some of the top teams and girls basketball talent in the state.  Broken Bow faced Class C2 Freeman in game #5 of the showcase.  The Freeman Falcons entered with a 9-1 record and was ranked #8 in their class by the Lincoln Journal Star.  Broken Bow fell behind early but came back to lead 11-10 after the first quarter.  The Lady Indians then separated themselves from the Falcons in the middle quarters outscoring Freeman 15-6 in the second quarter and 19-10 in the third on their way to a 53-34 win.  The three point shot was big for Broken Bow as the Lady Indians made ten 3’s in the game.  Five of those came from Charlee Myers who finished with a game high 15 points and was selected as the game’s offensive MVP.  Janae Marten knocked down two 3’s and finished in double figures with 10 points.  Broken Bow’s Halle Quinn was chosen as the game’s defensive MVP.  The win snapped a three game losing skid for Broken Bow who improves to 8-4 on the season.
