Mullen hosted the Bronco wrestling invitational on Saturday. Hitchcock County was the team champion with 130 points. Mullen placed fifth in the team standings with 91.5 points and Anselmo-Merna was sixth with 84 points. Mullen placed five wrestlers in the top four of their weight class. Tate Kvanvig was champion at 215 lbs. Bo Pettit Jr. was 3rd at 132 lbs., Jaylon Forsen was 4th at 138, Colby Kessler was 4th at 144, and Cooper Walker was runner up at 165.
Anselmo-Merna placed four wrestlers in the top four of their weight class. Jarrett Wells was champion at 150 lbs. Brett Olson was runner up at 113, Isaiah Hoyt was 4th at 126, and Jackson Christen was runner up at 175 lbs.
Among the other area highlights, Sandhills/Thedford placed two in the top four of their weight class. Caleb Clark was third at 120 lbs. and Mason Sutton was runner up at 126.
