MNAC Wins Over MAC in All Star Basketball Games

Recent graduates from teams that make up the Mid Nebraska Activities Conference met recent grads from teams that make up the Minuteman Activities Conference Saturday in Mullen for the 3rd annual MNAC vs MAC girls and boys all star basketball games. The night belonged to the MNAC all stars.

In game one, the MNAC girls all stars started to pull away in the latter portion of the opening quarter on their way to a 57-32 win. All players on the MNAC roster scored led by Sandhills/Thedford’s Dayle Haake. A first team Class D2 all state selection this past season, Haake led all scorers with 14 points and was the game’s leading rebounder on her way to being selected as the Dairy Queen MVP of the MNAC all stars. Twin Loup’s Cassidy Grint also finished in double figures for the MNAC with 12 points. Lexi Fiscus of Bayard was selected as the Dairy Queen MVP for the MAC all stars finishing with a team high 10 points.

In game two, the MNAC boys all stars pulled away in the 2nd quarter to build a 48-22 lead at halftime on their way to a 74-42 victory. The MNAC knocked down nine 3’s in the game as all players on the MNAC roster scored. The MNAC was led by two Anselmo-Merna grads. Quinten Myers hit three 3’s and led all scorers with 17 points as he was named the MNAC Dairy Queen Most Valuable Player of the game. Colin Cooksley of Anselmo-Merna had 14 points and Trey Connell of South Loup also finished in double figures with 10. Jonathan Kruse of Leyton was selected as the MAC Dairy Queen MVP finsihing with a team high 9 points.
