Local Sports Calendar 8/28 – Broken Bow Volleyball at Hershey on KCNI and Sandhills Express Video Stream

The Nebraska High School volleyball season goes into full swing tonight.  The Broken Bow volleyball team begins its season tonight on the road as they travel to Hershey to face the Lady Panthers.  Broken Bow finished last season at 21-11 overall.  The two faced each other in the season opener last season with Broken Bow winning in five sets.  Tonight’s varsity match will be broadcast on KCNI 96.3 FM and kcni1280.com with a live video stream, accompanied by the radio call, available through sandhillsexpress.com on the Sandhills Express Facebook Page and Sandhills Express You Tube Channel.  Match time is scheduled for 6:30 pm.

Ansley/Litchfield at the Amherst Triangular with Amherst and Elm Creek
Twin Loup at the Stuart Triangular with Stuart and Burwell
Sandhills Valley at the Maywood Hayes Center Triangular with MHC and Paxton

Cozad vs Gothenburg

Also on the local sports calendar today, the Broken Bow cross country teams begin their season as they compete at the North Platte Invite. Also scheduled to compete at the North Platte Invite are Mullen, Sandhills Valley, and Cozad. Burwell will host its cross country invitational today. Area teams scheduled to compete include Burwell, Ansley/Litchfield, South Loup, Twin Loup, and Sandhills/Thedford.

The Broken Bow girls golf team will travel to Meadowlark Hills Golf Course in Kearney today for the Kearney Catholic Invite. Other area teams scheduled to compete include Arcadia/Loup City, Gothenburg, and Cozad.

In area football, South Loup begins its season today as they travel out west to face Hemingford while Mullen and Sandhills Valley will face each other for their season opener tonight.
