Broken Bow will host the 2023 Southwest Conference wrestling championships today at the Indian gym in Broken Bow. Southwest Conference member schools include Broken Bow, Cozad, Gothenburg, Ainsworth, Valentine, Minden, Holdrege, McCook, and Ogallala. Matches are scheduled to begin at 11 AM with Central Nebraska’s Sports Source providing live play by play coverage of all Broken Bow matches on KCNI 1280 AM / 96.3 FM and on kcni1280.com. The Fort Kearny Conference wrestling tournament is scheduled for today as well. Ansley/Litchfield and SEM are among the teams scheduled to compete.
Anselmo-Merna will host Twin Loup for a girls and boys basketball doubleheader tonight in Merna. The girls game is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. with the boys game to follow. The semifinal round of the Fort Kearny Conference girls basketball tournament takes place tonight at Holdrege high school. SEM is the top seed in the tournament and will face Overton in the first of the two semifinals followed by Wilcox-Hildreth vs Amherst. Today’s winners will meet for the tournament championship on Saturday in Holdrege.
