Sandhills/Thedford will host its annual wrestling invitational today in Dunning. The meet was originally scheduled for earlier in January but was postponed because of weather and moved to today. Today’s meet will also serve as the Mid Nebraska Activities Conference wrestling championships. All teams affiliated with the MNAC conference will compete today along with several other teams. The top MNAC team in the final team standings will be awarded the MNAC team championship for this year. Central Nebraska Sports Source will provide live match coverage of today’s meet beginning with the semifinal round. Coverage can be heard this afternoon on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com.
Also on the local sports calendar today, play continues at the Fort Kearny Conference basketball tournament with the boys quarterfinal round. Ansley/Litchfield is the #3 seed and will play #6 Loomis at Elm Creek tonight. SEM is the #5 seed in the boys tournament and will play #4 Axtell tonight at Amherst.
The LouPlatte Conference basketball tournament continues today with boys and girls quarterfinals. The ALC boys will play at #3 seed Wood River tonight while the ALC girls will play at top seed Centura.
