The Holdrege Inspire Rehabilitation Juniors baseball team claimed the Class B Area 6 tournament championship Wednesday at Broken Bow’s Paul Brown Field.
Holdrege defeated Minden in the championship round finishing an undefeated run through the tournament. The two met earlier in the tournament with Holdrege winning big 22-0 on Sunday. Wednesday’s game was much closer. Holdrege trailed 3-0 after 3 1/2 innings but scored 4 runs in the bottom of the third with three of them coming on a bases clearing triple. Neither team would score after the third inning as Holdrege held on for a 4-3 victory.
With the win, Holdrege advances to the Class B state tournament which begins July 15th in Alliance.
