SEM claimed the D2-7 sub district volleyball championship with a straight set win over Elba 25-9, 25-15, 25-10. Taryn Arbuthnot led the way with a match high 15 kills and Jacelyn Hoos also finished with double figures in kills with 10. SEM improves to 25-6 on the season and advances to the Class D2 district finals on Saturday.
Sandhills/Thedford claimed the D2-10 sub district title with a 3-1 win over Mullen. Mullen took the opening set 26-24 but Sandhills/Thedford came back to tie the match winning set #2 25-23. The Lady Knights came out strong to dominate the third 25-9 and then closed it out in the fourth 25-20. Sandhills/Thedford improves to 26-5 and advances to the district finals. Mullen drops to 19-10 and will wait to see where they end up in the point standings to see if a wildcard berth for the district finals is attainable.
Ansley/Litchfield claimed the D1-10 sub district championship with a straight set win over Brady 25-12, 25-17, 25-21. The Lady Spartans will advance to the district finals for the second consecutive season. The video replay of the match is posted below
