The Broken Bow volleyball team improved to 18-11 on the season with wins over Valentine and Doniphan Trumbull at their home triangular Tuesday night. Broken Bow defeated Valentine in straight sets 25-17, 25-8. The Lady Indians then got by Doniphan Trumbull in straight sets 25-13, 25-14. Halle McCaslin led Broken Bow in kills with seven in the Valentine match and 13 against Doniphan Trumbull. Broken Bow will travel to Valentine for the Southwest Conference tournament on Friday. Broken Bow will open with Holdrege in the quarterfinals at 11 a.m. All Broken Bow matches will be broadcast on KCNI 1280 AM/96.3 FM and kcni 1280.com.
Twin Loup hosted SEM and Arcadia/Loup City for a volleyball triangular Tuesday night. SEM improved to 23-4 with straight set wins over Twin Loup (25-13, 25-18) and Arcadia/Loup City (25-12, 25-14). Twin Loup and ALC battled in a three set thriller. ALC won the first set 25-16. Twin Loup tied the match winning set #2 27-25. The third set also went extra points with Arcadia/Loup City winning 28-26.
