The Mid Nebraska Activities Conference volleyball tournament began Thursday with quarterfinal action. In games played at Dunning, the top seed Sandhills/Thedford swept by Sandhills Valley in straight sets to advance to the semifinals where they will face South Loup. The #5 seed got by the #4 seed Brady 3 sets to 1. In games played at Merna, the third seed Twin Loup collected its 16th win of the season by knocking off Arthur County 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-20). The Lady Wolves will face #2 seed Anselmo-Merna in the semifinals. AM defeated Mullen 3-1 (25-11, 21-25, 25-18, 25-14). The MNAC tournament concludes Saturday at North Platte Community College. Coverage of the semifinals, 3rd place consolation, and championship matches will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM with a live video stream, accompanied by the radio call, available on the Sandhills Express Facebook page and You Tube channel. Semifinals are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
