The Broken Bow football team improved to 4-2 Friday night with a convincing 48-14 win over Holdrege. Just like last week, Broken Bow set the tone early with their offense scoring on their opening four possessions to build a 28-6 lead at halftime. The Broken Bow defense forced four turnovers on the night. Tyson Neely collected an interception in the first half and Holdrege fumbled on their opening three drives of the second half. Nathan Reynolds and Connor Wells each had three touchdowns for the Indians who are now 2-0 in district play. Broken Bow will host Minden next Friday at Mark Russell Field.
Sandhills/Thedford improved to 5-1 on the season with a 49-8 win over Anselmo-Merna. Sandhills/Thedford QB Kyle Cox had a big game finishing with 6 touchdown passes including a long of 62 yards to Brady Dahlberg in the first quarter. Kaden Haake had 3 touchdown receptions and ran for a touchdown for the victorious Knights. Anselmo-Merna’s score came on a 9 yard touchdown pass from Zane Druery to Tyce Porter. AM is now 2-4 on the season. Anselmo-Merna will play at Hyannis next Friday while S/T will host Leyton next Thursday.
