High School Football Scores 9/22

The Broken Bow football team won its fourth in a row Friday as they overcame an early deficit to come back and knock off Cozad 28-12.  Cozad took the opening drive of the game 80 yards to take an early 6-0 lead.  Broken Bow answered back in the 2nd quarter putting together a 66 yard touchdown drive capped off by a 1 yard touchdown by Brice Chaplin which gave Broken Bow a 7-6 lead at halftime.  In the second half, Broken Bow set the tone with their opening drive marching 66 yards as Eli Coble scored on a 16 yard touchdown run to extend Broken Bow’s lead to 14-6.  With 3:49 left in the 3rd quarter, Cruze Safranek broke loose for a 43 yard touchdown run to extend Broken Bow’s lead to 21-6.  Cozad would fight back though putting together a 78 yard touchdown drive but the point after was no good to keep it a two possession game at 21-12.  Broken Bow would put the game away on their ensuing drive marching 69 yards as Eli Coble scored his second touchdown of the night to put Broken Bow up 28-12 and help them improve to 4-1 on the season.  The Indians will continue district play next Friday when they go on the road to face Holdrege.

In KBBN’s area game of the week, Twin Loup held off Ansley/Litchfield 48-26 to improve to 3-2 on the season.  Quincy Ryker had a big night for Twin Loup accounting for four touchdowns, three rushing and one receiving.  Garrett Keith had two rushing touchdowns for the victorious Wolves and Aaron Glendy had an interception return for a touchdown.  Ansley/Litchfield was led by Zach Loy who had a rushing touchdown and threw touchdown passes to Ryan Bailey and Luke Bailey.  Ashton Behmerwohld had a rushing touchdown for the Spartans who are now 2-3 on the season.  Twin Loup plays at Burwell next Friday while Ansley/Litchfield will travel to Central Valley.
