Broken Bow dropped its season opener to Class C1 #1 Boone Central Friday night 48-0. The Cardinals jumped out early and controlled the game throughout. Boone Central was led by quarterback James Fogleman who finished with three rushing touchdowns and one passing touchdown. Broken Bow will look to bounce back next week when they travel west to face Ogallala.
Twin Loup and Anselmo-Merna went back and forth in their season opener with Twin Loup hanging on for a 22-20 win. Aaron Glendy connected with Waylon McBride on a touchdown pass and David Switzer had two touchdown runs for the Wolves. Anselmo-Merna quarterback Quinten Myers ran for two touchdowns and threw a touchdown pass to Josiah Griffith to lead the Coyotes. AM will face Ansley/Litchfield next week while Twin Loup will travel to Mullen to take on the Broncos.
