The Broken Bow football team continued its winning streak Friday with a 34-18 road win over Minden. The Indians got on the board early scoring on a 54 yard touchdown run by Eli Coble with 9:55 left in the opening quarter to go up 7-0. Broken Bow followed that with a recovered on side kick and marched 35 yards scoring on a 3 yard Cruze Safranek touchdown run to go up 14-0. Minden was then able to come up with a couple defensive stops and put together a touchdown drive with 2:59 left in the first half to make the score 14-6. Broken Bow responded quickly on a 69 yard touchdown pass from Eli Coble to Cruze Safranek before the half to make the score 20-6 at halftime. Minden put together a 65 yard touchdown drive to start the second half to climb to within 20-12. Broken Bow again had the answer marching 65 yards in return scoring on a one yard touchdown run by Brice Chaplin with 58 seconds left in the third quarter. The Indians put the game away in the fourth quarter when Cruze Safranek broke loose for a 39 yard touchdown run to put the game out of reach. It’s Broken Bow’s sixth win in a row as they improve to 6-1 overall and improve to 3-0 in district play. Broken Bow will host Ord on October 13th. The Chanticleers are 5-2 following a 34-20 win over Kearney Catholic Friday.
