The South Loup Bobcats concluded their regular season Friday night with a 56-0 win over Arcadia/Loup City. Conner Paulsen finished with four rushing touchdowns to help lead the South Loup offense. Ethan Furne had a touchdown reception and a punt return for a TD. AJ Starr and Tysen Schacher each had a touchdown run for the Bobcats and QB Dylan Pandorf had a touchdown pass. South Loup is now 6-2 on the season and will prepare for the Class D1 playoffs which begin next week. The ALC Rebels conclude the season at 2-6.
Broken Bow fell to top ten ranked Central City Friday night at Mark Russell Field. The Indians battled tough against the top ten ranked Bison. Broken Bow got to within 8-7 with 2:13 left in the 2nd quarter when Zach Jackson hooked up with Dominic Nowak for a 22 yard touchdown pass but Central City was able to respond quickly scoring with 1:30 left in the quarter to make the score 16-7 at halftime. Broken Bow started the second half with a defensive stop and then drove 43 yards with Ayden Clark scoring on a two yard touchdown run to make the score 16-13 with 6:15 left in the 3rd quarter but Central City would respond with 14 unanswered points on their way to a 36-19 victory. Broken Bow is now 3-5 on the season and will close out the regular season next week against Gothenburg. The Swedes improved to 4-4 after shutting out Minden Friday 32-0.
