Broken Bow fell short in their upset bid of top five ranked Central City on the road Friday. Central City led 21-0 at halftime but Broken Bow fought back in the second half and made it a one possession game on two different occasions. Broken Bow took the opening drive of the second half 67 yards on an 8 1/2 minute drive that was capped off by a 1 yard touchdown run by Aidan Markham to make the score 21-6. The Indians then recovered an onside kick to get the ball right back. Broken Bow put together a 52 yard touchdown drive with Dominic Nowak scoring on a 36 yard touchdown run to pull to within 21-14. Central City took their first offensive play of the second half with 59 seconds left in the third quarter but they made the most of that final minute scoring in two plays to go up 28-14. Broken Bow would answer with a 59 yard touchdown drive capped off by a 7 yard touchdown run by Dominic Nowak to pull to within 28-20 but again Central City answered with a touchdown drive of their own to increase their lead to 34-20 which would be the final score. Central City moves to 8-0 while Broken Bow drops to 3-5. The Indians will close the regular season next Friday when they host Gothenburg. The Swedes defeated Minden Friday night 27-6 to improve to 7-1.
