Broken Bow saw its six game winning streak come to an end Friday night with a 21-14 loss to Ord. The game was scoreless until Broken Bow’s Eli Coble scored on a touchdown run with 1:27 left in the 2nd quarter. Ord quickly answered marching 80 yards and scoring on a 10 yard touchdown pass from Dylan Hurlburt to Blake Hinrichs with 3.7 seconds left in the 2nd quarter to tie the score at 7-7 at the half. In the second half, Eli Coble broke loose for a 55 yard touchdown run to give Broken Bow lead back with 1:35 left in the third quarter. But again the lead did not last long. Ord’s Trent McCain broke loose on the ensuing Ord possession to quickly tie the game up at 14-14. Later in the half, Ord running back Trent McCain scored his second touchdown of the game to give the Chanticleers their first lead of the game at 21-14. After a critical 4th down stop late in the fourth quarter, Broken Bow had one last possession to try to tie or win the game. The Indians marched into Ord territory but a pass attempt on 4th down with 10 seconds left fell incomplete and Ord held on for the win. Broken Bow drops to 6-2 overall and will host Gothenburg in the regular season finale next Friday at Mark Russell Field. Gothenburg is now 5-3 after shutting out Minden Friday night 24-0.
