The Broken Bow girls and boys basketball teams each opened the season with a win Thursday night on their home court at the Indian gym. The Broken Bow girls defeated Arcadia/Loup City 69-21. The Lady Indians led 18-12 early in the 2nd quarter but then went on a 23-5 run to close out the first half and pull away for the victory. Broken Bow had 10 players score led by MaKinley Tobey who finished with a game high 15. Freshman Izabelle Tibbs also finished in double figures for Broken Bow with 10 points. Arcadia/Loup City was led by Tatum Kapustka who finished with a team high 8 points. The Broken Bow boys held Arcadia/Loup City to 22 total points on their way to a 48-22 win. Broken Bow scored 15 unanswered points to close out the opening quarter to pull away. Broken Bow had nine players score led by Eli Coble who had a game high 10 points and Roman Schmidt finished with nine. Arcadia/Loup City was led by Brogan Setlik and Isaiah Santos who each finished with five points.

South Loup and Twin Loup begin their basketball seasons tonight as South Loup will host a girls and boys basketball doubleheader tonight in Arnold.
