Ansley/Litchfield hosted Twin Loup for a girls and boys basketball doubleheader Friday night in Litchfield. In the boys game, Twin Loup collected it’s 8th win of the season holding off Ansley/Litchfield in overtime 65-56. The game was tied at 52-52 at the end of regulation. In overtime, Henry Sortum of Twin Loup knocked down two 3’s and was 4 of 8 from the free throw line scoring ten of Twin Loup’s thirteen points in overtime as the Wolves outscored Ansley/Litchfield 13-4 in the extra session to secure the win. Twin Loup’s Yahya Harris led all scorers with 32 points. Harris scored 21 in the first half including 16 in the second quarter knocking down five 3’s in the opening half. Ansley/Litchfield’s Luke Bailey tried to bring the Spartans back in the second half. Bailey scored six points in the first half but scored 21 in the second half to help force overtime. Twin Loup improves to 8-3 on the season while Ansley/Litchfield falls to 5-7. In the girls game, Ansley/Litchfield opened on a 10-0 run but Twin Loup battled back to make the score 18-16 at halftime. The Lady Spartans were able to hold off Twin Loup in the second half collecting a 35-28 win. Kerry Ryan of Ansley/Litchfield led all scorers with ten points. Twin Loup was led by Ragan Mauler who had a team high nine.
