Broken Bow was among the teams that competed at the Cozad girls wrestling invitational on Friday. Broken Bow was team runner up with 177 points. Team champion was Alliance with 203 points. Broken Bow had three wrestlers win the championship in their weight class. Zoe Jones was champion at 120 lbs., Stayci Medina Lopez was champion at 170 lbs., and Ida Bumgarner was champion at 190. Others who finished in the top four of their weight class were Lailah Jones who was runner up at 125 lbs. and Alexis Pflaster placed third at 145 lbs.

Area athletes competed at the Southwest girls Invite on Friday. The meet was won by Southwest with 159.5 points. The top area team finisher was Ansley/Litchfield who was fifth with 106 points. A/L had four wrestlers place in the top four. Jenna Drahota was 4th at 100 lbs., Bayler Clay was third at 105, Clysta Brott was third at 135, and Jaycee Vogel was 4th at 155. Other area highlights included Rylee Kursave of Arcadia/Loup City winning the title at 170 lbs. and Natalya McDonald of SEM was 4th in the weight class. Alexis Stutzman of Sandhills Valley was 3rd at 100 lbs. Ellie Scoville of SEM was runner up at 155 lbs. and Olivia McDonald of SEM was 4th at 120 lbs.
