Anselmo-Merna advanced to the finals of the D2-7 girls sub district basketball tournament with a 62-36 win over Elba on Tuesday. The Lady Coyotes were led by Makenna Miller who finished with a game high 28 points. Shayleigh Coleman also finished in double figures for the Coyotes with 10 points. AM will face Central Valley for the sub district title. Central Valley held off SEM 49-29 to advance. Bentleigh Dugan of Central Valley led all scorers with a game high 23 points. SEM was led by Katelynn Reiter who had a team high eight points. Anselmo-Merna will face Central Valley for the sub district championship on Thursday. Play at the C1-8 sub district tournament has been delayed due to weather. St. Paul will face Cozad on Wednesday now with the winner advancing to play top seed Milford on Thursday. Broken Bow is the #2 seed in the sub district and will face Grand Island Central Catholic at 6:30 p.m. Thursday night in Milford. The game will be broadcast on KCNI 96.3 FM and kcni1280.com.
The start of the D2-10 sub district tournament has been moved to Wednesday in Mullen. Mullen is the top seed and will face Arthur County followed by Paxton vs Sandhills/Thedford.
The start of the D1-8 sub district tournament has been pushed back to Thursday in Pleasanton with top seed Pleasanton facing off against Ansley/Litchfield followed by Burwell vs Twin Loup. The sub district final will be played on Friday.
The start of the D1-11 sub district tournament has been moved to Wednesday in Brady with top seed Brady taking on Sandhills Valley followed by Sutherland vs South Platte.
Arcadia/Loup City will face #2 seed Hastings St. Cecilia in Hastings Wednesday at the C2-8 sub district tournament. On the other side of the bracket, Centura will play at top seed Maywood Hayes Center. The winners will play on Thursday for the sub district title.
