District Golf Results – Area Recap

District competition in boys high school golf began across the state on Monday.  The top three teams and top ten individuals from each district automatically qualified for the NSAA boys golf state championships next week.

Broken Bow was among the teams that competed at the B-1 district held at Rivers Wild Golf Course in Blair.  The Indians finished 7th in the team standings with a 360 team score.  Bennington was the district champion with a 289 team score followed by Elkhorn in second with a 328 and McCook qualified for state in third place with a 331. Grady Friedrichsen of Elkhorn and Kale Lamberty of Bennington each shot a 70 for the low round of the tournament.

B-1 District Results

Anselmo-Merna, Burwell, Sandhills Valley, Sandhills/Thedford, and South Loup were among the teams that competed at the D-3 district tournament played at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course.  Burwell’s Kason Larson qualified for the Class D state tournament by placing sixth with a round of 84.  Keian Fischer of North Central shot a 71 for the low round of the tournament.  North Central was the team champion followed by CWC in second and Neligh-Oakdale was third.  Burwell finished 8th in the team standings with a 408.  South Loup finished with a 421 team score and Sandhills Valley finished with a 450.

D-3 District Results

Arcadia/Loup City competed at the C-4 district tournament played at Southern Hills golf course in Hastings.  The Rebels finished with a 421 team score.  The team champion was Adams Central followed by St. Paul in second and Kearney Catholic was third.

C-4 District Results

District golf concludes tomorrow.  Mullen will be among the teams competing tomorrow (5/19) at the D-5 district tournament hosted by Perkins County at Ogallala’s Crandall Creek golf course.  SEM will be among the teams competing tomorrow (5/19) at the D-4 district tournament to be played at the Lakeside Country Club at Johnson Lake.
