District Cross Country Today

Area athletes will attempt to qualify for next weeks state cross country meet as they compete today at districts.  The top three teams in team scoring in each district will qualify for the NSAA state cross country championships and the first fifteen runners to finish, whether part of a team or running as an individual, will qualify for state.

Broken Bow will travel to Ogallala for the C-5 district meet.  The Indians will be joined by Alma/Southern Valley, Chadron, Chase County, Cozad, Gothenburg, Hershey, Holdrege, Mitchell, Ogallala, Sidney, and Valentine.

In Class D (boys and girls), Burwell and Twin Loup will be among the teams competing at the D-3 district in Ainsworth.  Arcadia/Loup City will compete at the D-4 district in Franklin.  Sandhills Valley, South Loup, and SEM will be among the teams competing at the D-5 district in Cambridge.  Mullen and Sandhills/Thedford will compete at the D-6 district meet at Bridgeport.  The Ansley/Litchfield girls will compete at the D-5 district in Cambridge.

The 2021 state cross country championships will take place on October 22nd at the Kearney Country Club.
