D2-6 All District Football Team Released

The D2-6 all district football teams have been released for the 2024 season. The district includes Central Valley, Palmer, Twin Loup, Burwell, Anselmo-Merna, and Chambers Wheeler Central. Central Valley was the district champion and claimed the Class D2 state title Monday(11/25) at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. It’s the first state football championship for Central Valley which came into existence in 2014 when Greeley-Wolbach Public School merged with North Loup-Scotia Public School. Central Valley faced their nearby rival Riverside for the championship. The Cougars won in dominant fashion jumping out to a 24-0 after the first quarter and extended their lead to 46-6 at halftime on their way to a 52-12 victory. Central Valley was led by Zaden Wolf who finished with 153 yards rushing on 13 carries and had three touchdowns. Central Valley had eight players receive first team all district recognition.

Twin Loup finished 3-2 in district play. Twin Loup had four players receive first team all district. They included Cazen Smith, Mace Beran, Emmett Sortum, and Yahya Harris.

Burwell and Anselmo-Merna each finished 2-3 in district play. Burwell had three players receive first team honors (Drew Dawe, Binyam Sikes, and Trentin Brown). Anselmo-Merna had two players represented on the all district first team (Dane Duryea and Josiah Griffith).
