The SEM boys basketball team will look to qualify for the state tournament tonight when they face Creighton for the D2-5 district championship. SEM qualified for the district finals by winning the D2-8 sub district title with wins over Elba and Sandhills/Thedford. The Mustangs are on a six game winning streak and enter tonight’s matchup at 19-5. Creighton is 13-11 this season and qualified for the district final as a wildcard after falling to Stuart at the D2-5 sub district tournament 54-46. Tonight’s game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and on kbbn.com. The game will be played at Burwell high school with the tip off scheduled for 6:30.
Two other area teams have qualified for a district final as Ansley/Litchfield and Mullen will each play their district finals on Tuesday. Ansley/Litchfield will face Bancroft Rosalie for the D2-8 district championship at Boone Central high school and Mullen will matchup with Santee for the D2-8 district championship Tuesday night at Ord high school.
