D-3 and D-4 District Wrestling Area Recap

Area wrestlers competed at the D3 and D4 district tournaments on Saturday. The D3 district was held at Pleasanton and the D4 district was held at Bayard. The top four in each weight class qualified for the state tournament next week in Omaha.

Mullen competed at the D4 district at Bayard. Mullen qualified four wrestlers for state. They included Jason Kraus at 144 lbs. (Champion), Cooper Walker at 150 lbs. (4th), James Kessler at 165 lbs. (3rd), Chase Gracey at 175 lbs. (Champion).

Arcadia/Loup City, Sandhills/Thedford and SEM were among the teams that competed at the D3 district tournament in Pleasanton. ALC qualified three wrestlers for state. The included Christopher Allen at 106 lbs. (Champion), Logan Spotanski at 132 lbs. (3rd), and Wyatt Stieb at 190 lbs. (4th). Sandhills/Thedford qualified four wrestlers for state. They included Brodie Stengel at 126 lbs. (3rd), Rhett McFadden at 175 lbs. (4th), Caden Zutavern at 215 lbs. (runner-up), and Zeb Wilde at 285 lbs. (Champion). SEM qualified three wrestlers for state. They included Clayton Scoville at 113 lbs. (3rd), Treu Atkins at 120 lbs. (Champion), and Maddox Jones at 175 lbs. (runner-up).
