Colin Cooksley of Anselmo-Merna claimed the individual title Thursday at the North Platte St. Pat’s boys golf invitational played at River’s Edge golf course at North Platte. Cooksley tied with Matthew Phelps of North Platte St. Pat’s for the low round of the tournament with an 81 and then won the championship in a playoff. Others from the KCNI/KBBN coverage area who medaled in the top ten included Cole Kramer of Sandhills Valley third with an 84 and Braden Powell of Sandhills Valley placed 9th finishing with an 87. It took an 89 to medal in the top ten.
Several golfers from the KCNI/KBBN coverage area finished just outside the top ten. Aaron Bartak of Anselmo-Merna finished with a 90. Ethan Weems of Sandhills Valley shot a 91. Brady Haake and Preston Moschenross of Sandhills/Thedford shot a 92 and 93 respectively. Mullen was led by Jacob Walker who shot a 92. South Loup was led by Dawson Doggett and Joey Sallach who each finished with a 94.
Sandhills Valley finished as the team runner up behind team champion Hitchcock County.
