Class C district track took place around the state Thursday.  South Loup competed at the C8 district meet at Southern Valley.  The top two places in the individual running events and field events automatically qualify for state and the winning team in each relay automatically qualifies.

Automatically qualifying for South Loup for the state track championships next week was Cache Gracey who won the boys 400 meters in a time of 51.37.  Silas Cool was the district champion in the boys 800 in a time of 2:09.99.  Logan Recoy qualified in the 1600 finishing 2nd.  The South Loup boys 4×400 meter relay team qualified.  The team of Silas Cool, Dylan Pandorf, Logan Recoy, and Cache Gracey won the event in a time of 3:36.85.  The Bobcats also qualified in the 4×800 meter relay.  The team of Trey Connell, Dylan Pandorf, Logan Recoy, and Silas Cool had a winning time of 8:34.83.

On the girls side, Talli Martin qualified in the girls mile as the district champion winning the event in a time of 5:48.71.   Martin also qualified in the 3200 placing 2nd.  Abby Stallbaumer qualified in the girls discus winning the event with an effort of 137′ 6″.  South Loup’s Ivy Tullis qualified in the 800 placing 2nd overall.  Charli Vickers placed 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles to qualify for state.

Additional state qualifiers for South Loup based on time and performance included Rio Remund in the boys shot put and Charli Vickers in the girls 100 meter hurdles.

Arcadia/Loup City competed at the C6 district meet hosted by Centennial High School.  Jessica Stieb swept the throwing events qualifying for state in both the girls shot put and discus.  Stieb’s winning efforts were 41′ 2″ in the shot put and 144′ 9″ in the discus.  Other qualifiers for ALC included Landri Loos who was the district champion in the girls 800 in a time of 2:29.31.  Tatum Kapustka qualified for state in the girls triple jump finishing 2nd.

On boys side, Tyce Calleroz qualified in the 200 winning the event in a time of 23.01 seconds.  Hayden Griffith will go to state in the high jump winning the event with an effort of 6′ 1″.  Ty Greenland qualified in the 3200 with a second place finish and Kaden Reeves qualified in the boys pole vault with a second place finish.
