2024 Broken Bow graduate Camryn Johnson qualified for the semifinal round at the 62nd Nebraska girls match play championships. Johnson defeated Cecilia Arndt of Columbus on Tuesday in the round of 16. Johnson was 1 up in the match through 15 holes but then collected birdies on holes 16 and 17 to close out the match winning 3 & 1. In the quarterfinals on Tuesday, Johnson met Nielli Heinold of Scottsbluff. Johnson closed out the match after the 12th hole winning the match 7 & 6. That advanced the Bow grad to the semifinals on Wednesday where she went up against Naryn Kim of Lincoln. Kim was 2 up through 15 holes and then closed out the match with a birdie on the par 4 16th to win the hole and secure the match 3 and 2. Broken Bow’s Molly Custer qualified for the round of 16 of this year’s girls match play championship. Custer faced Ellen Bode of Omaha on Tuesday in the round of 16. Bode secured the match after 14 holes to win 6 & 4.
