C-5 District Cross Country – Broken Bow Girls and Jackson Hansen Qualify for State

The C-5 district cross country championships took place Wednesday at Ogallala.  The top three teams and top 15 individuals qualify for the Class C state championships on October 20th in Kearney.  The Broken Bow girls qualified for state as a team finishing third in the district behind runner up McCook and champion Sidney.  Broken Bow was led by Ashlyn Schauda who placed fourth in the district in a time of 20:40.08.  The Lady Indians placed five runners in the top 25.  MaKinley Tobey placed 16th, Genesis Guevara was 17th, Gaby Staples placed 18th, and Annette Guevara was 21st.  The C-5 girls district champion was Lindee Henning of Ogallala in a winning time of 18:47.02.

On the boys side, Gothenburg was the district champion followed by Holdrege as the runner up and Alliance was third.  Broken Bow finished fifth in the boys team standings.  Jackson Hansen of Broken Bow qualified for state by placing in the top 15.  Hansen finished 13th in a time 17:25.12.  The boys district champion was Tyler Hetz of Gothenburg in a winning time of 16:22.32.
