Busy Weekend for Broken Bow American Legion Baseball Teams

The Bow juniors dropped two one run games on the road over the weekend.  On Saturday, Broken Bow traveled to Imperial.  Imperial would come away with a 4-3 win.  Imperial led 3-2 after the first inning.  Broken Bow tied the game with a run in the top of the fourth but Imperial got the run back in the bottom of the fourth and held on for the win.  Broken Bow outhit Imperial 8-3 but had four errors.  Eli Coble was 3 for 3 with a run scored and Max Denson had a multi hit game finishing 2 for 3 with 1 RBI.  On Sunday, the Bow juniors fell 6-5 at Ogallala.  Broken Bow jumped out to a 5-0 lead scoring four runs in the first and one more in the 2nd but Ogallala was able to respond with two runs in the 2nd and then tied the game with three runs in the third.  The game remained tied until Ogallala scored a run in the bottom of the 7th to win in walk off fashion.  The Bow juniors are now 8-4 on the season.

The Bow seniors went 1-1 over the weekend.  On Saturday, Broken Bow shutout Imperial 5-0.  Caden Holm pitched a complete game for the shutout giving up just two hits and striking out 13.  Brice Chaplin led the offense finishing 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and a run scored.  On Sunday, Broken Bow fell to Ogallala 5-3.  Bow led early with 3 runs in the second inning but Ogallala came back scoring runs in the 2nd and 3rd then took the lead with two runs in the fourth and added an insurance run in the sixth to complete the comeback.  The Bow seniors are now 6-5 on the season.

Both teams will be back in action Monday when they host Gothenburg for a juniors and seniors doubleheader.  The juniors game is scheduled for 5:30 with the seniors game to follow at 8.  The seniors game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and on kbbn.com
