The Burwell Longhorns claimed the 2025 NSAA Class D state wrestling dual championship on Saturday in Kearney. Burwell, who was the top seed in the tournament, opened with a win over Loomis, 52-27 in the opening round. The Longhorns would face Aquinas Catholic of David City in the semifinals winning 37-33 to advance to the championship round. In the finals, Burwell faced Central Valley picking up the win by a final score of 40-30 to claim the state title. It’s the second state duals championship for Burwell winning the Class D title back in 2018.

Also claiming state duals titles were Lincoln East in Class A, Omaha Skutt in Class B, and Battle Creek in Class C.
