The Broken Bow unified bowling team will compete at the B-5 district competition today at Pastime Lanes in Hastings. Unified sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. The Baker format will be used for today’s district tournament. A “Baker” game is when multiple bowlers bowl one game. Team members alternate frames of one game; meaning the same bowler never bowls back-to-back frames. Teams will compete in a three player/trio baker game format. The team with the highest point total pinfall after six games will advance to the NSAA Unified Bowling State Championships which is scheduled for December 8th at Sun Valley Lanes and Games in Lincoln.
Scheduled to join Broken Bow in today’s district tournament are Aurora, Centennial, Central Valley, Hastings, Northwest, Shelby-Rising City, Southern Valley, and York.
