Broken Bow Track Teams Open Season at Aurora Invite – Bow Girls Team Runner Up

The Broken Bow track teams began their seasons Friday at the Aurora Invite.  Broken Bow was runner up in the girls team standings with 111 points. Northwest of Grand Island was the girls team champion. Northwest won the boys team title with 171 points. Broken Bow finished with 25 points.

Among the highlights for the Indians, Keelyn Shea won the girls discus with a winning effort of 123′ 6″ and Janae Marten finished third in the event with an effort of 120′ 2″.  Both placed in the shot put as will with Marten finishing third and Shea was fourth. Marin Chapin was champion in the girls 400 with a time of 1:04.49. Klarissa Dowdy was runner up in the girls 100 meter hurdles in a time of 17.04 seconds and was runner up in the 300 meter hurdles in a time of 47.3 seconds. Halle Quinn was runner up in the 800 (2:34.28). Ashlyn Schauda was third in both the 1600 (6:15.72) and the 3200 (13:48.23). In the relays, Broken Bow (Maren Chapin, Halle Quinn, Klarissa Dowdy, Olivia Neely) was runner up in the 4×400 with a time of 4:25.81.

On the boys side, Coy Wardyn was runner up in the pole vault with an effort of 14′ 6″ and was third in the 100 in a time of 11.73 seconds. In the field events, Drew Ellis was third in the shot put with an effort of 44′.
