Broken Bow Track Teams Compete at Northwest Dave Gee Invite

The Broken Bow track teams traveled to Northwest high school in Grand Island for the Dave Gee track invite on Thursday. Northwest won the girls team title with 112 points with Waverly 10 points behind in second. Broken Bow finished in a tie for 10th with Adams Central. Waverly won the boys team title with 110 points followed by Omaha Skutt in 2nd with 88 points. Broken Bow finished 5th overall with 52 points.

Among the Broken Bow highlights, Max Denson was champion of the boys shot put with a winning effort of 52’1″. Cruze Safranek won the boys 100 meter dash by posting one of the top times in Class B this year at 10.8 seconds.  Maren Chapin was runner up in the girls 400 with a time of 1:01.13. Coy Wardyn was runner up in the boys pole vault clearing 13’3″. Eli Coble had a top three finish in the boys triple jump finishing third with an effort of 41’10.75″. Klarissa Dowdy had a top three finish in the girls 300 hurdles placing third with a time of 49.36 seconds.

Broken Bow (Maren Chapin, Halle Quinn, Gaby Staples, Ashlyn Schauda) 4th in the girls 4×800 (10:21.83)
Broken Bow (Brice Chaplin, Coy Wardyn, Eli Coble, Cruze Safranek) 5th in the boys 4×100 (44.2)
