Broken Bow Ties for Third and Qualifies Four for State at C-4 District Wrestling

Broken Bow hosted the C-4 district wrestling championships on Saturday.  Broken Bow finished in a tie with Gibbon for third in the team standings with 115 points.  Pierce was the district team champion and Chadron was team runner up.  The top four wrestlers in each weight class qualified for the NSAA state championship tournament in Omaha.

Broken Bow qualified four wrestlers for state.  The Indians finished with three district champions.  Braxon Rynearson was champion at 150 lbs. winning by a 3-1 decision over Chaz Erickson of Kearney Catholic in the championship match.  Cobe Wells was the district champion at 175 lbs.  Wells won by major decision over Tristan Koch of Gothenburg in the title match and Devon Baum was district champion at 285 lbs. winning by fall over Boston Krueger of Pierce in the championship match.  Also qualifying for state was Aidan Markham who finished third at 165 lbs.

In other area notes, Gothenburg qualified three for state.  Lucas Therrien at 120 lbs., Maddox Gilligan at 138, and Tristan Koch at 175.  Cozad qualified three for state.  Wyatt Hueftle at 106 lbs., Drake Hasbrouck at 144, and Jaden Rodriguez at 285.

The NSAA state wrestling championships will take place at the CHI Health Center in Omaha February 19, 20, and 21.
