Broken Bow Sweeps McCook in Legion Baseball Doubleheader

Broken Bow hosted McCook Tuesday for a juniors and seniors legion baseball doubleheader at Paul Brown Field.  The Bow juniors collected their 16th win of the year with a thrilling 10-9 win.  The two teams combined for 10 runs in the first inning as Bow took an early lead 6-4.  The game was tied at nine when Max Denson doubled to drive in the winning run in Broken Bow’s final at bat for the walk off victory.  Denson would finish the game with two doubles and 4 runs batted in.  Coy Wardyn was 3 for 3 with a run scored and 3 RBI.  The Bow juniors are now 16-4 on the season.

The Broken Bow seniors improved to 12-9 on the season with a 9-1 win over McCook in five innings.  Broken Bow outhit McCook 14-4.  Sawyer Bumgarner helped lead the way going 3 for 4 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Eli Coble, Caden Holm, Hagen Campbell, and Carter Johnson all had 2 hits each.  Carter Johnson collected the win on the mound going 4 2/3 innings giving up 1 run on 3 hits and striking out seven.

The Broken Bow American Legion Seniors Baseball team will host Holdrege tonight (6/29) at Paul Brown Field.  The theme is makeup and finish.  The evening starts at 6 pm as Bow and Holdrege will complete a game that was suspended due to rain.  The game will pick up in the 6th inning with Broken Bow holding a 3-1 lead as the visiting team.  That will be followed by a seven inning game that is a makeup for the game that was rained out back on June 9th.  The make up game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and on kbbn.com.
