Broken Bow hosted Gothenburg Monday night for a legion baseball juniors and seniors doubleheader. The Bow juniors were able to end a 3 game losing skid with a 9-1 win. Broken Bow scored six runs in the fifth inning to pull away. Brice Chaplin picked up the win on the mound giving up just one run on 3 hits and striking out 6. Coy Wardyn pitched one inning of scoreless relief surrendering one hit and striking out 1. Brice Chaplin was 2 for 2 at the plate with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI. Owen Hartman also had a multi hit game finishing 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI. The Bow juniors are now 9-4 on the season.
The Bow seniors fell to Gothenburg 7-5. Broken Bow trailed 2-1 but scored 2 runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 3-2 lead into the 7th. Gothenburg would bat through the order in the 7th and score 5 runs to take the lead. Broken Bow fought back in the bottom of the 7th scoring 2 runs to make it 7-5 but left the bases loaded as Gothenburg held on for the win. Brody Ridder led the Broken Bow offense finishing 2 for 4 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored. The Bow seniors fall to 6-6 on the season.
