The Broken Bow Spirit 18U girls softball team swept a doubleheader from the Ord Heat 16U team Friday.
In game one , Broken Bow shutout the Heat 12-0. The Spirit had 12 hits in the game. Ida Bumgarner, Skylar Smith, Anslee Campbell, and Alexis Pflaster all had a multi hit game for Broken Bow. Pflaster had 2 doubles and drove in 3 runs. Smith had a triple and drove in two runs. Laney Holcomb was 1 for 1 with a double and 2 RBI. Lily Thornton and Laney Holcomb were in the circle for the combined shutout. Thornton went two innings giving up 1 hit and striking out 2. Holcomb pitched one inning surrendering one hit.
In game two, Broken Bow scored nine runs in the first inning and held on for a 12-7 win. Keelyn Shea led the Spirit offense in game two finishing 3 for 3 with 1 run scored and 4 RBI.
The Spirit are now 11-18-1 on the season.
