Broken Bow Spirit 18U Softball Falls to Holdrege and Ties Cozad at Home Triangular

The Broken Bow Spirit 18U softball team hosted Cozad and Holdrege for a triangular Tuesday night at Tyke Arnold Field in Broken Bow.  The games were played with a 65 minute hard time limit.

Broken Bow and Cozad went back and forth in game one.  The game was tied 5-5 after two innings.  Cozad scored four runs in the first and one in the second while Broken Bow did just the opposite scoring 1 in the first and four in the second.  After neither team scored in the third, each team scored a run in the fourth and then time ran out with the game ending in a 6-6 tie.  Alexis Pflaster was 2 for 3 at the plate with a run scored and three runs batted in.  Ruby Russell scored a run and drove in two for the Spirit.

In final game of the night,  Broken Bow jumped out to a 3-0 lead after three innings but Holdrege found their offense in the next two innings.  Holdrege scored five unanswered runs to come back and win the game 5-3.  Broken Bow was held to just two hits.  Alexis Pflaster was 1 for 1 with two runs scored and a run batted in and Lily Thornton finished 1 for 2.
