Broken Bow Spirit 18U Falls to North Platte Sensations on the Road

The Broken Bow Spirit 18U team played a doubleheader at the North Platte Sensations on Tuesday.  The Spirit dropped game one 7-2.  North Platte set the tone early scoring 5 runs in their first at bat and added runs in the third and fifth innings.  Broken Bow pushed two across the plate in the 4th.  Kennedy Garcia was 2 for 3 to lead the Spirit offense.  Kate Holcomb was 1 for 2 with a run scored and Camryn Johnson was 1 for 1 with a run scored.

In game two, it was the Spirit that jumped out early scoring 8 runs in the first inning.  North Platte responded with 5 runs in the bottom of the first then scored 4 more in the 2nd and 2 more in the third to lead 11-8 going into the fourth.  Broken Bow would tie the game scoring three runs in the top of the fourth but North Platte would score in the bottom of the fourth for a 12-11 walk off victory.  Broken Bow pounded out 14 hits in the game.  The Spirit were led offensively by Irelyn Rosfeld and Chelsea Silva.  Rosfeld 3 for 4 with 2 RBI and Silva was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI.

The Spirit will next play at Cozad on Thursday.
